Adding a new field to the online induction flow is simple. This can be done by going to the custom fields configuration screen and following this guide.
- In the portal, click All Tools then Configuration
- Under the Operative Configuration select Custom fields
- Click the Plus symbol to create a field
- Enter the name of the field and a brief description of the field
- From the drop-down list select the type of custom field you are creating
- Set the sensitivity of the data according to the risk attached
The Slug will be auto-populated with the field name - Click the Plus icon to add options
- Type in the possible selections - only applicable to dropdown fields
- Click the rosette to associate the selection with a qualification- where applicable
- Enter the Name and select if it is needed for access and or registration and if you require verified qualifications
If you select No for required for registration users will not be stopped in the induction process
If you select Yes for required for access will stop users at the gate if they do not have the appropriate qualification
Set the following options as required:
- Read only
- Mandatory for all
- Automatic erasure
Click on the User Types tab and select the user types the custom field relates to- Only applicable if
Mandatory for everyone is set to ‘No’
- Click the Mandatory By tab
- The custom field can be linked conditionally to other fields.
- Click the plus symbol to conditionally link the custom field
- Select from the field drop-down box the field that the custom field links to
- Select the "Being set to" drop-down box and select your choice.
- Select Visibility from the tabs
Only applicable if Mandatory for everyone is set to ‘No’ - When set to Yes the field is visible in the flow of the induction.
- When No it’s only visible when a related field is selected appropriately
- Once done Click Save
- You can now move the field to your induction question list
