A common reason why Biosite Systems turnstiles may go offline are caused by cut or damaged CAT 5 cables.
- Check if to see if any equipment is offline or does not have power
- Turnstiles fingerprint/facial readers would be on, but the turnstile would be locked.
- Site PC, the screen would be on. Backed up with power supplies.
- If the Site PC and Server both have power, you will need to walk the cable route. Site teams usually suggest cable route. If ducts are required these are all done before hand by site teams.
- Cables can be buried only under gates.
- Clipped to hoarding
- If a damaged cable is found, this needs to be reported to Biosite when the ticket is raised with Support. Having this information is invaluable to us.
- Our Sales Admin team will need to raise a quote, which will need to be approved before we can come to site and fix the damaged/cut cable.
- If you can’t find damaged cable raise a support ticket with tech to see if they can get back online. If tech cannot help engineer will have to attend.
