Blocking unverifiable cards

Historically Biosite has blocked cards from being saved if CSCS's API platform could not verify them. This has worked well in the past using the CSCS GoSmart system. However, as of April 1st 2024, CSCS replaced CSCS GoSmart with a new system, CSCS Smart Check.

CSCS Smart Check has some limitation with the cards that it can verify. To cover this case, Biosite has added a new configuration option to control whether or not cards that fail to verify are blocked from being added or not.

Cards that could not be verified will be added without an automatic verification present, and allow users with permission to mark it as manually verified.

Configuration > Induction > Flow > Settings cog in "Operative details entry" row

This new toggle will default to "Yes" on all existing portals, as this is existing behaviour. If "Require proof of credential" is set to "Yes", documents will still be required, even if "Block unverifiable cards" is set to "No".

Verifying custom qualifications

Custom added qualifications will no longer be verified with the CSCS Smart Check API.
