How to identify operatives
There are three methods available for identifying operatives. Operatives may need to be identified for various tasks such as:
Facial recognition
Follow the following steps to identify an operative via facial recognition:
- Tap the camera icon in the relevant screen to open the phones camera.
- Direct the camera towards the operative's face.
- Once the capture button transitions from a translucent to an opaque state, and the facial box changes its colour from red to white, tap the capture button.
- If a match is identified, a pop-up will appear displaying the matched operative.
- If the system cannot find a matching operative profile, a pop-up will display the message 'No match found'.
Best practices for facial recognition
- Operative is facing the camera
- Well-lit face
- Clear and in focus
- Neutral background
- Neutral facial pose
- Contain no other people
Camera Switching
The app provides an option to switch the default camera and enable camera switching. However, these settings are not applicable when scanning a QR code to register an operative to the site.
To adjust the camera settings:
- On the site welcome screen tap the three vertical dots on the top right corner of the screen.
- Tap 'Settings'.
- In the 'Camera' section, tap 'Default camera', to adjust the default camera and toggle 'Allow camera switching' to add the option to switch between cameras within the camera screens.
Torch
If the device is equipped with a torch, it can be turned on within the camera screen to aid with any visibility issues. Please note that this feature is only available for the back camera.
To toggle the torch:
- When in the camera screen, tap the torch icon.
Card scanning
Follow the following steps to identify an operative via card scanning:
- Tap the card icon in the relevant screen to begin the card scanning process (This step is not required for Android versions, card scanning can be initiated by simply holding a supported card to the back of the device.)
- Hold a supported card close to the back of the device for a few seconds.
- If a match is identified, a pop up will appear displaying the operative.
- If the system cannot find a matching profile, a pop-up will display the message No match found.
Manual selection
Follow the following steps to identify an operative via manual selection:
- Find the operative’s name in the provided list, by scrolling or searching by tapping the search icon and entering the operatives name.
- Tap the name tile of the operative.
- Upon selection, a pop-up will appear displaying the match.
